The TP-Link Omada EAP225 is an AC1350 dual-band ceiling mount access point for homes and businesses. It supports Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) with up to 867 Mbps on 5 GHz and 450 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, has one Gigabit Ethernet port, and is powered over Ethernet by an 802.3af PoE switch or the included passive PoE adapter.
AC1350 dual-band Wi-Fi: The EAP225 broadcasts on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz at the same time. Band steering moves capable devices to the faster 5 GHz band, while load balance spreads clients across access points in a larger installation.
MU-MIMO and beamforming: MU-MIMO lets the access point send data to several MU-MIMO devices at once instead of one by one. Beamforming focuses the signal toward connected clients for a stronger, more stable link.
Up to 16 SSIDs: You can create up to 16 Wi-Fi networks (8 per band), for example separate networks for staff, guests and IoT devices, each with its own settings and VLAN mapping.
Power over Ethernet: One Ethernet cable carries both data and power. The EAP225 works with 802.3af PoE switches, or with the passive PoE adapter supplied in the box when no PoE switch is available.
Ceiling or wall mounting: The mounting kit in the box lets you fix the EAP225 on a ceiling or a wall, and a physical security lock slot helps protect it in public areas.
Omada management: The access point can be managed through its web interface, the Omada app, or centrally with Omada cloud, hardware or software controllers, which is useful when several access points are installed.
Good to know
The EAP225 has one Gigabit Ethernet port, and TP-Link lists only PoE power options for it: an 802.3af PoE switch or the included 24 V passive PoE adapter. Wi-Fi speeds are the maximum link rates stated by TP-Link; real throughput depends on client devices, the number of users and the building.
