The TP-Link Deco X50-Outdoor is a dual-band AX3000 Wi-Fi 6 mesh unit built for outdoor use, with an IP65 weatherproof housing. It joins your Deco mesh network to extend the same Wi-Fi outside the house, and it can be powered either by PoE through its Ethernet cable or by mains power. It can also be used indoors.
Made for outdoors: The IP65 housing protects it from dust and water jets, and TP-Link rates it for operating temperatures from -30 °C to 60 °C. The included mounting kit lets you fix it to a pole or a wall, or you can stand it on a table.
PoE or AC power: The unit accepts IEEE 802.3at PoE through its Ethernet port, so one cable can carry both data and power to the mounting point. Where you have a socket, you can use the included AC power cord instead.
Part of your Deco mesh: The X50-Outdoor links to your other Deco units wirelessly or by Ethernet cable (optional Ethernet backhaul), so your phone keeps the same Wi-Fi name as it moves between indoor and outdoor coverage. Its 5 GHz band runs at up to 2402 Mbps, and MU-MIMO and OFDMA help it serve several devices at once.
Two Gigabit ports: Each unit has 2 Gigabit Ethernet ports with PoE input and WAN/LAN auto-sensing, so you can also connect a wired device next to the unit.
Security and easy setup: TP-Link HomeShield adds network protection, IoT protection and parental controls, and Wi-Fi is secured with WPA/WPA2/WPA3. Setup and management are done in the Deco app.
Who it's for / Works with
Homes that already have, or plan, a Deco mesh system and need Wi-Fi outdoors. It can work in Router or Access Point mode.
Good to know
A PoE switch or PoE injector is not included in the box; for PoE power you need an IEEE 802.3at (PoE+) source.
