The EZVIZ HB8 (model CS-HB8, 4MP) is a battery-powered outdoor Wi-Fi camera that can pan 340° and tilt 65°, recording in 2K⁺ (2560 × 1440). It runs on a built-in 10,400 mAh rechargeable battery, stores video on built-in 32 GB eMMC memory, and can be kept charged by a compatible EZVIZ solar panel.
Available options: camera only (No Panel) or camera with a solar panel (With Panel), each with or without installation.
Pan and tilt coverage: The camera head turns 340° horizontally and 65° vertically, and you move it from the EZVIZ app. One camera can watch a whole yard, driveway or building side that would otherwise need several fixed cameras.
Wire-free battery power: The 10,400 mAh battery means no power cable is needed at the mounting point. EZVIZ rates it for up to 210 days per charge in its lab test (about 5 minutes of activity per day); real battery life depends on how often the camera detects and records. It charges from a DC 5V/2A supply, or continuously from a compatible EZVIZ solar panel.
Human detection with auto-tracking: A PIR sensor works together with EZVIZ's person-shape detection so alerts focus on moving people rather than other movement. When a person is detected, the camera follows them as they move through the scene.
Built-in 32 GB storage: Recordings are saved to 32 GB of eMMC memory inside the camera, so it starts recording without buying a memory card. EZVIZ CloudPlay cloud storage is also supported as a paid subscription.
Color night vision and active defense: Two built-in spotlights allow color images at night, and infrared night vision reaches up to 15 m. When a person is detected, the active defense function can sound a siren and flash the spotlights to deter them on the spot.
Two-way talk and voice alerts: The built-in microphone and speaker let you talk to visitors from your phone, and you can record custom voice messages that play automatically when people are detected.
App and smart-home control: The camera is managed from the EZVIZ app and works with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa for live view on a compatible screen. H.265 compression reduces the storage and bandwidth each recording needs compared with H.264.
Good to know
The camera connects over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only and needs at least 4 Mbps of network bandwidth. The camera-only box does not include a solar panel; EZVIZ states that only a compatible panel should be used. The camera has a weatherproof design (no IP rating is listed by EZVIZ). The spotlights do not flash when color night vision mode is on. Google Assistant is not available in all languages and countries, and cloud storage is only available in some markets.
