The SONOFF MINIR4M is a small Wi-Fi smart switch module that installs behind an existing wall switch or inside a mounting box, turning ordinary lights and appliances into smart ones. It is Matter-certified and switches loads up to 10A (about 2400W at 240V) over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi.

Matter certified: The MINIR4M can be added directly to Matter-compatible platforms such as Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa and SmartThings by scanning its Matter QR code. This means you can control it from the smart home app you already use, and SONOFF states that Matter devices keep working locally on your home network.

eWeLink app as well: Besides Matter, the switch can be paired with SONOFF's eWeLink app. From the app you can set timers and schedules, control it by voice, and build smart scenes with other devices such as sensors.

Compact size: At 39.5 x 33 x 16.8 mm, SONOFF states the MINIR4M is about 40% smaller than the previous MINIR2. It fits 86-type and EU standard mounting boxes, including the smallest European boxes, so it can usually sit behind the existing switch.

Works with your existing wall switch: The S1/S2 terminals connect to an external switch, so you keep using the switch on the wall. Supported types include momentary, SPDT (two-way) and latching switches, and SONOFF also lists door exit switches and dry contact sensors.

Detach relay mode: This mode separates the state of the wall switch from the relay. Pressing the wall switch then does not cut the power to the device, so a smart bulb connected to it stays online and controllable from the app.

Good to know

A neutral wire is required. The switch works on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only and is for indoor use. The maximum load is 10A; the manual requires a 10A MCB or RCBO before the device and forbids connecting the S1 and S2 terminals to the neutral or ground wire.
