Nintendo Switch – OLED Model
The Nintendo Switch – OLED Model is a home console and a handheld in one: dock it to play on your TV, or pick it up and play on its 7-inch OLED touch screen. Compared with the original Nintendo Switch, it has a larger OLED screen, a wide adjustable stand, a dock with a wired LAN port, 64 GB of internal storage and enhanced audio in handheld and tabletop modes.
7-inch OLED screen: The 7.0-inch OLED touch screen (1280 x 720) shows vivid colours and crisp contrast when you play on the go. In handheld and tabletop modes the game is shown at up to 720p on this screen.
Three play modes: In TV mode the console sits in the dock and outputs up to 1080p over HDMI. In tabletop mode you flip out the stand and share the screen, and in handheld mode you play with the Joy-Con controllers attached.
Wide, adjustable stand: The wide stand on the back can be adjusted to find the best viewing angle, which makes tabletop play with a friend easier. Multiplayer needs additional Joy-Con or Pro controllers, sold separately.
Dock with wired LAN port: The included dock has an HDMI port for your TV, two USB 2.0 ports on the side and a wired LAN port, so you can play online over a cable in TV mode. The LAN cable is sold separately.
64 GB storage, expandable: There is 64 GB of internal storage, part of which is reserved for the system. You can add space with a microSD, microSDHC or microSDXC card up to 2 TB (sold separately).
Joy-Con controllers: The two included Joy-Con controllers can be used attached to the console or detached, as one controller or two, held vertically or sideways, depending on the game.
Good to know
Battery life is about 4.5 to 9 hours depending on the game (about 5.5 hours in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild), and a full charge takes about 3 hours in sleep mode. The internal battery cannot be removed by the user. Online play needs a Nintendo Switch Online membership (sold separately) and a Nintendo Account. Using a microSDXC card needs a system update over the internet first.
