PlayStation 5 | Slim | Digital | Middle East Edition

This is the slim PlayStation 5 Digital Edition, model CFI-2016, with a 1TB SSD. It has no disc drive: games are bought and downloaded from PlayStation Store. Sony lists an 8-core AMD Ryzen "Zen 2" processor, an AMD Radeon RDNA 2-based graphics engine with ray tracing, and 16GB of GDDR6 memory.

1TB SSD storage: The CFI-2016 has a 1TB internal SSD with 5.5GB/s raw read bandwidth. Installed games load quickly, and the larger drive gives you more room for downloaded games than the 825GB versions.

Graphics with ray tracing: The GPU runs at up to 2.23 GHz (10.3 TFLOPS) with hardware ray tracing acceleration. In supported games this gives more realistic lighting, shadows and reflections.

4K 120Hz output over HDMI 2.1: The console supports 4K 120Hz TVs. To get high frame rates, the game and your TV must both support it.

Tempest 3D AudioTech: Sony's 3D audio technology is built into the console, adding a sense of direction to the sound in games that support it.

Fast connections: On the front there is one SuperSpeed USB Type-C port (10Gbps) and one Hi-Speed USB Type-C port; on the back there are two SuperSpeed USB Type-A ports (10Gbps). For the network you can use Gigabit Ethernet or Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax).

Slimmer design: Sony states the new models are more than 30% smaller in volume than the original PS5. A horizontal stand is included in the box, and a DualSense wireless controller comes with the console.

Good to know

This Digital Edition cannot play game discs. Sony sells an Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive separately that can be added to this console later. The vertical stand is sold separately.
