Sonoff BASICR4 Wi-Fi Smart Switch 10A | BASICR4

The SONOFF BASICR4 is an inline Wi-Fi smart switch that you wire between the power supply and an appliance or light to control it from the eWeLink app. It is built on an ESP32 chip and handles loads up to 10A (2400W at 240V), with timers, scenes, group control and voice control through eWeLink.

ESP32 Chip: BASICR4 uses an ESP32 chip on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n). Once added to the eWeLink app you can switch the connected load remotely, set timers and schedules, choose the power-on state and share the device with family members.

Magic Switch Mode: When the light is also fed through a wall switch, a wire linking L1 and L2 on the wall switch lets BASICR4 stay online even after the wall switch is turned off, so the light can still be controlled from the app. Check the wiring note in the user manual for the switch and lamp types this mode supports.

eWeLink-Remote Gateway: BASICR4 acts as a gateway for SONOFF eWeLink-Remote sub-devices such as the S-MATE2 and R5, so a wireless button can switch the load locally without depending on the Wi-Fi network.

Overheating Protection: A built-in temperature sensor detects the maximum temperature of the device in real time and cuts off the load if it overheats, protecting against deformation, melting or fire. The casing is PC V0 flame-retardant material.

Who it's for / Works with: Anyone who wants to make a light or small appliance smart by wiring a module inline. It works with the eWeLink app (Android / iOS) and with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice control through eWeLink. It uses 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only.

Good to know: Installation must be done by a qualified electrician with the power off, and the overheating protection does not replace a circuit breaker. It is rated for indoor use only (-10°C to 40°C) and does not support 5 GHz Wi-Fi.
