Sonoff SNZB-04P Zigbee Door/Window Sensor – Enhanced Security with Tamper Alert
The SONOFF SNZB-04P is a Zigbee 3.0 door/window contact sensor with a separate magnet. It reports when a door or window opens or closes, so you can get app notifications, sound an alarm or turn on lights automatically.
It has a built-in tamper alert and runs on a CR2477 battery that SONOFF rates at over 5 years.
Open/close monitoring: The sensor detects the distance between the transmitter and the magnet. When they separate it reports 'open', and when they come back together it reports 'closed', which can trigger scenes such as turning on the hallway light.
Tamper alert: If someone removes the sensor, the tamper button detects it and sends an app alert. This matters because removing the sensor and magnet together would not change the open/closed state.
5-year battery life: The CR2477 battery is rated for more than 5 years in SONOFF's lab test (25°C, 50 triggers a day), so battery changes are rare.
Door-left-open alert: With a SONOFF hub you can get a notification when a door stays open longer than the time you set (requires SONOFF ZBBridge-P, NSPanel Pro or iHost).
Local scenes: Scenes between Zigbee devices keep working locally even if the internet connection drops, as long as the devices are powered.
Easy installation: The transmitter and magnet stick on with 3M adhesive. Keep the gap between them at 20 mm or less when the door or window is closed.
Who it's for / Works with
Zigbee 3.0 hubs such as SONOFF NSPanel Pro, SONOFF iHost, ZBBridge-P, ZBDongle-E and Echo Plus 2nd Gen. Through the eWeLink app it can be used with Alexa and Google Home, and it can be added to Home Assistant via ZHA or Zigbee2MQTT with a Zigbee dongle.
Good to know
The SNZB-04P needs a Zigbee hub; it does not connect to Wi-Fi by itself.
It is for indoor use only; SONOFF says it is not an outdoor sensor and rain can damage it.
The magnet must be within 20 mm of the transmitter when closed.
