The TP-Link TL-SF1005D is a small desktop switch that turns one network connection into five 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports. It is plug and play, needs no configuration, and runs without a fan, which makes it a simple way to connect more wired devices to a router.

Five 10/100 Mbps ports: Each of the five RJ45 ports runs at 10 or 100 Mbps. Connect one port to your router and use the others for computers, printers, IP phones, TV boxes or other wired devices.

Auto-negotiation and Auto MDI/MDIX: Every port detects the speed of the connected device and the type of cable automatically, so you can use ordinary straight network cables without worrying about crossover cables.

Plug and play: There is nothing to set up. Connect the power adapter and the network cables, and the switch starts working.

Fanless, with flow control: The switch has no fan, so it makes no fan noise on a desk. IEEE 802.3x flow control and back pressure help avoid data loss when a port is busy. TP-Link's Green Technology reduces power use.

Good to know

The ports are 10/100 Mbps (Fast Ethernet), not Gigabit, so each wired device is limited to 100 Mbps. It is an unmanaged plug-and-play switch with no settings to configure, and it is powered by an external power adapter.
