The TP-Link Archer T5E is an internal PCI Express card that adds dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2 to a desktop PC. It connects at up to 867 Mbps on the 5 GHz band and up to 300 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band (802.11ac), using two detachable external antennas.
AC1200 Dual Band Wi-Fi: The card receives Wi-Fi on two separate bands. Use the 2.4 GHz band (up to 300 Mbps) for browsing, email and social media, and the 5 GHz band (up to 867 Mbps) for gaming, streaming and large downloads.
Bluetooth 4.2: The Archer T5E also adds Bluetooth 4.2 (backward compatible with Bluetooth 4.0), so a desktop without Bluetooth can connect wireless headsets, speakers, keyboards, mice and controllers. TP-Link states 2.5× faster speed and 10× more packet capacity than Bluetooth 4.0.
Two External Antennas: Two detachable high-gain external antennas extend Wi-Fi reception for more stable connections in more parts of the home.
Easy Installation: Plug the adapter into a free PCI-E slot. Besides the standard bracket, a low-profile bracket is provided for mini tower cases.
Who it's for / Works with: Desktop PCs without built-in Wi-Fi or Bluetooth that need a wireless connection to a router plus Bluetooth for headsets, speakers, keyboards, mice and game controllers.
Good to know: This listing describes hardware version V1 (Bluetooth 4.2). The Bluetooth part connects through a USB 2.0 interface on the motherboard. Wi-Fi security on V1 is WEP / WPA / WPA2 (WPA3 is not listed). Wi-Fi rates are maximum link rates; real throughput depends on the router and environment. Desktop PCs only (PCI Express slot required).
