The TP-Link RE605X is a dual-band Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) range extender that plugs into a wall socket and repeats your existing Wi-Fi into rooms where the signal is weak. It is rated AX1800, with up to 1201 Mbps on 5 GHz and 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, and has two external antennas and a Gigabit Ethernet port.

Wi-Fi 6 dual band: The extender works on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. The 5 GHz band (up to 1201 Mbps) gives faster speeds close to the extender, while the 2.4 GHz band (up to 574 Mbps) reaches further through walls.

Gigabit Ethernet port: Connect a smart TV, computer or game console with a cable to the extender's Gigabit port for a more stable wired connection in a room far from the router.

Access Point mode: If you have a network cable from your router in a room, plug it into the RE605X and it creates a new Wi-Fi access point from that wired connection.

Signal indicator and Tether app: LED lights help you find a good location between the router and the weak area. You can set up and manage the extender from the TP-Link Tether app on iOS or Android, or from a web browser.

Homes and offices where the router's Wi-Fi does not reach every room. It extends the Wi-Fi of a standard router or wireless access point.

The extender repeats your router's signal, so speeds depend on the router and on where the extender is placed. The wireless rates are maximum link rates. The mesh system it uses (TP-Link OneMesh or EasyMesh) depends on the hardware version; check the version on the box label. Only the extender and a quick installation guide are in the box.
