The UGREEN CM209 (item 50922) adds a wired RJ45 Ethernet port to a computer or other device through its USB-A 3.0 port. It supports 10/100/1000 Mbps Gigabit Ethernet with auto-negotiation, and comes in a space gray aluminium case with a short 10 cm integrated cable.

Gigabit wired connection: The adapter connects your device to a router or network switch with a standard Ethernet cable at up to 1000 Mbps. This is useful when a laptop has no Ethernet port, when the built-in port is damaged, or when the Wi-Fi signal is weak or unstable.

USB 3.0 interface: It plugs into a USB-A 3.0 port, which carries up to 5 Gbps, so the USB link has enough bandwidth for a Gigabit network connection. It is also backward compatible with USB 2.0 ports.

Plug and play on most systems: No driver installation is needed on Windows 11, 10, 8.1 and 8, macOS and ChromeOS: you plug it in and the network connection appears. On Windows 7, XP and Vista, and on Linux, a driver has to be installed first.

Works with Nintendo Switch: UGREEN lists the adapter as compatible with the Nintendo Switch and Switch OLED, so the console can use a wired connection instead of Wi-Fi.

Aluminium case and status LEDs: The space gray aluminium housing helps dissipate heat during long use and resists corrosion. Two LEDs next to the RJ45 port show the status: green for power and flashing yellow for data activity.

Good to know

Windows RT and Android are not supported. Windows 7/XP/Vista and Linux need a driver. The real speed you get is also limited by your internet plan and by the router or switch port the cable is connected to.
