The SONOFF Z-Wave 800 Dongle Plus is a USB Z-Wave controller built on the Silicon Labs EFR32ZG23 (Z-Wave 800 series) chip. Plugged into a computer, mini-PC or Raspberry Pi running Home Assistant, openHAB or another open-source platform, it becomes the Z-Wave gateway that lets that software control your Z-Wave devices locally.

Z-Wave 800 Series with S2 Security: The EFR32ZG23 chip uses a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M33 processor and supports Z-Wave S2 security, which encrypts communication between the controller and your devices.

Z-Wave Long Range (ZWLR): Besides the normal Z-Wave mesh, the dongle supports Z-Wave Long Range for direct point-to-point links to distant devices, with up to about 1000 m reported in open-area testing — useful for garages, gardens or basements.

External Antenna & Aluminium Casing: A 2 dBi external antenna with adjustable angle improves signal stability, and the housing is aluminium alloy. A USB extension cable is included so you can move the dongle away from USB 3.0 ports and other sources of interference.

Plug & Play: The dongle ships with Z-Wave firmware ready to use; plug it into a USB port of the host and add it in your Z-Wave software (for example Z-Wave JS in Home Assistant).

Who it's for / Works with: Smart home users running their own open-source hub: Home Assistant and openHAB, and other platforms that support Z-Wave. It works with Z-Wave certified devices from different brands.

Good to know: This is not a stand-alone hub — it needs host software such as Home Assistant or openHAB running on a computer, server or Raspberry Pi.
