UGREEN Multi-function Card Reader Case USB-C & USB-A 5Gbps with 11-Card Storage Space Gray | CM856

The UGREEN CM856 is a card reader and memory card case in one: it reads 2× SD and 1× microSD (TF) cards and stores up to 6 SD cards, 4 microSD cards and 1 SIM card. It connects by USB-C, or USB-A with the included adapter, at 5Gbps, with card reading at up to 170MB/s.

Color: Space Gray

Description:

11-card storage: The case holds 6 SD cards, 4 microSD cards and 1 SIM card in addition to the reading slots. A photographer can keep all spare cards in one place instead of carrying a separate card wallet.

USB-C and USB-A in one: The reader plugs in by USB-C, and the included USB-C to USB-A adapter lets you use it with older computers that only have USB-A ports. The interface runs at up to 5Gbps.

Read two cards at the same time: Two cards can be used at once in the SD1 + SD2 or SD1 + TF combinations, at read speeds up to 170MB/s, so you can back up directly from one card to another. The SD2 + TF combination is not supported.

Aluminum shell with silicone case: The reader has an aluminum shell, and the silicone protective case adds shock and drop resistance while you travel. This keeps both the reader and the stored cards better protected in a bag.

Plug and play: No drivers are needed on Windows, macOS or Linux; the cards appear as drives as soon as you connect. It can also be used directly with phones and tablets that support OTG.

Built-in protection, low temperature: Overcurrent and short-circuit protection are built in. UGREEN states a maximum surface temperature of 30.9°C under load, so the reader stays cool during long transfers.

Award-winning design: The CM856 received a Red Dot Product Design award in 2025. The design combines the card reader, storage and cable in one compact case.

Works With:

Laptops, desktop PCs, tablets and OTG-capable smartphones with USB-C, and computers with USB-A through the included adapter; Windows, macOS and Linux.

Good to know: Memory cards are not included. Only two cards can be used at once (SD1+SD2 or SD1+TF); SD2+TF does not work together. The SIM slot is storage only, not a SIM reader. 170MB/s needs a card rated for that speed.
