The Hikvision iDS-7108HUHI-M1/S is an 8-channel Turbo AcuSense DVR with one hard disk bay. It takes HDTVI, AHD, CVI and CVBS cameras plus IP cameras, records up to 8 MP at 8 fps, and uses deep learning to tell people and vehicles apart.
8 MP recording: Main stream recording reaches 8 MP at 8 fps, with 3K and 5 MP at 12 fps and 4 MP at 15 fps. HDTVI cameras are accepted up to 8 MP @ 15 fps and AHD cameras up to 5 MP @ 20 fps.
Motion Detection 2.0: Deep learning-based Motion Detection 2.0 is enabled by default on all analog channels and classifies people and vehicles. This cuts false alarms caused by leaves or changing light, and you can search recordings quickly by target type (human or vehicle).
Perimeter protection: Deep learning-based perimeter protection uses human/vehicle analysis on up to 4 channels, so perimeter alarms can be limited to people and vehicles. Hikvision notes that Motion Detection 2.0 and perimeter protection cannot be enabled at the same time.
H.265 Pro+ compression: Supports H.265 Pro+, H.265 Pro, H.265, H.264+ and H.264. H.265 Pro+ improves encoding efficiency, so the same hard disk holds more days of recording.
4K HDMI output and Gigabit network: The HDMI output goes up to 4K (3840 × 2160), alongside a 1080p VGA output, so an 8 MP picture can be watched in full detail on a 4K screen. The network port is Gigabit (10/100/1000 Mbps).
IP cameras and remote access: 4 IP cameras up to 8 MP can be added (up to 12 IP channels in total); with Enhanced IP mode on, 8 IP channels (up to 16) are available, each up to 4 Mbps. Hik-Connect and DDNS make remote viewing simple, and a Wi-Fi dongle on USB connects the DVR to Wi-Fi.
Good to know
- Recording needs a SATA hard disk (1 SATA interface, up to 10 TB).
- Motion Detection 2.0 and perimeter protection cannot run at the same time.
- There are no PoE ports.
- The title model DS-7108HUHI-M1/S is listed by Hikvision as iDS-7108HUHI-M1/S (with 'i'). Hikvision sells it in more than one hardware revision (for example with a (C) suffix), so only specifications shared by the versions are listed; the exact model is printed on the box label.
